ASC Launch – Australian Submarine Corporation launched their new Henderson facility with the help of TLS productions.
The new $35 million submarine support facility, which accommodates 185 employees managing a 25-year contract to maintain Australia ’s Collins Class submarine fleet, is set to inject millions of dollars into the Western Australian economy. The Collins Class submarines are the most complex military vessel built in Australia. Over 33,000 drawings and 5,000 work orders were produced before the Collins Class submarine build process even began, and once work commences, each 78 metre submarine takes 2.5 million hours to assemble.
As this facility is obviously a huge undertaking for ASC and the Australian Defence Force, the opening of the facility was held with the appropriate level of fan-fair with the production supplied and coordinated by TLS.
The VIP guests lucky enough to be invited to the restricted entry event were given a real sense of the enormity of the project with a high-tech light and stage production supplied by TLS including two Barco SLite 10XP LED screens with live Video Imaging to screen, all surrounded by cleverly positioned custom ASC gobos that clearly illustrated the scale of the new premises.
ASC were extremely happy with the way the facility presented to those viewing it for the first time, with the event running seamlessly to create an exceptional first impression. |

TLS and Pendulum take audiences out of this world!
The music and live performances of Pendulum are designed to offer the audience the ultimate sensory escape. The band hit their home town of Perth in Western Australia with two sold-out shows in April; an all ages event for 5000+ people at the huge Robinson Pavilion in Claremont Show Grounds followed by an added over 18’s show at Metropolis City.
Since relocating to London in 2003, And selling more than 225,000 units of their debut artist album "Hold Your Colour", remixing for such respected artists as The Prodigy, being play-listed and featuring regularly on BBC Radio 1, all whilst continuing to tour the world over as DJs...Pendulum decided that it was finally time to take things to the next level - performing live. The world renowned act have evolved over the years from a small recording set-up of two producers and a DJ. to what is now a huge live stage act, promising an onslaught of sound and light, taking the audience on a journey beyond their everyday life.
TLS manufactured a purpose-built custom LED back-drop especially for Pendulum sending a dynamic array of images and video content gliding across what presented as a 12 metre wide low-resolution screen. They also postioned a large system of martin and high-end product across the huge stage, sending out a spectacluar, pulsing light show to an awe struck crowd.
Pendulum continue to grow in popularity both at home and abroad; and TLS were delighted to have helped make this tour to Perth an exciting and memorable one for the band and audiences alike. |

The Ronald McDonald Ball
TLS Productions was honoured to be involved with the highly-acclaimed charity Ronald McDonald House when the company was contracted to design and manage the Ronald McDonald Ball in March 2007.
This high-profile event, which raised funds to help seriously ill children get more out of life, was the perfect opportunity to showcase the talents of TLS Productions.
The company designed and delivered a well-timed and professional lighting and audiovisual display that thrilled the crowd who packed the Goldfields Oasis in Kalgoorlie for the event.
TLS Productions, along with local organisers and some keen volunteers ensured the night ran smoothly and was an outstanding success.
An excellent turnout happily enjoyed the experience and almost $100,000 was raised for the Ronald McDonald House Charities to help it continue to provide educational, accommodation and psychological programs for sick kids.
The client was more than pleased with the event’s success and gave special thanks to TLS Productions for its cooperation and innovation as the lighting experts for the night.
And the highlight for TLS?
It most certainly was seeing the smiles on faces in the crowd when the LED curtain came alive – the ultimate crowd-Blitzer. |

New Year’s Eve with ‘Pendulum Live’
New Year’s Eve is always a difficult night for clubs and event organisers to draw crowds and put on a night to remember.
But when the clock ticked over from 2006 to 2007 at Belvoir Amphitheatre, the 5,000 strong crowd were blown away by a killer set from Pendulum and guests, along with a dazzling light show.
Gig-goers were enthralled by the experience and this immense enthusiasm kept a huge amount of people on the dance floor til the early hours of the morning, well after the main attraction had left the stage.
The media also gave positive and heartfelt review of the New Year’s gig and praised the capabilities of TLS Productions, describing the electronic rock/metal show as having “fantastic lighting and a maximum full-thrust sound with bass that actually shook the amphitheatre” (XPress Magazine).
In trying circumstances, TLS Productions handled the night professionally and rave reviews of the lighting and sound show we created is of course something that we have no problems whatsoever taking credit for!
We only hope to assist in making more New Year’s Eve gigs even bigger and better! |
