El Son Entero Band

Perth got a taste of vintage Cuban rhythm on April 4 when El Son Entero, one of Cuba’s finest traditional bands, performed their unique show “Pasaje” to a sold out crowd.

Pasaje, or “Passages” is a combination of story, dance, live performance and rare footage from Cuba’s oldest recording company, Egrem. The show was steeped in the rich musical culture of the country, as is the band performing it.

Classically-trained Cuban 7 piece El Son Entero originates from Camaguey in central Cuba. Their music calls up the imagery and history of Cuban music. The Australian tour they’ve embarked upon marks the band’s first-ever time playing outside of their country, and TLS Productions was proud to provide the high-definition LED screen for the footage section of the performance.
